New Site for Gary Con VIII

July 26, 2015 Off By stavag

Hello gamers! Today we celebrate E. Gary Gygax’s 77th Birthday! In the spirit of celebration, we have a few exciting Gary Con VIII announcements! As you know, we’ve outgrown the Geneva Ridge Resort, and with the change of venue to the Grand Geneva comes some other changes. First and foremost, the website is undergoing a total transformation. Our goal is to streamline your experience and give you all the information you need in an easy to find place. It can be found at the same address: First an announcement, then some details on the new website:

Badge sales
Online badge sales open this coming THURSDAY, JULY 30th! Detailed information about the badge types on sale can be found on the Registration Tab.

Site Theme
Many of you will notice the website obviously looks and feels different from before. We’ve launched the new site now in order to keep to our timeline and get badge sales and registration on track. Additional features, content, art, themes, and the style itself will evolve as our team continues to work on the site. Our goal is to maintain core functionality while continuously upgrading your experience. Over the next 24 hours, you may experience some errors while loading the page, or you may see the old site. If you continue to experience this after July 28th, let us know. Our webmaster welcomes feedback, and you can contact him at

User Accounts
All your username and login information will be ported over from the old site to the new. For now, login function is disabled and you will not have access to your accounts until the database migration is complete. Once we’re up and running, you’ll be able to login using the same username as before, and all your account’s history will be intact. Login functionality will be restored this week, prior to the start of badge sales.

Our forums will also be temporarily unavailable while we port everyone’s account information and post history to the new platform. We value our forums as a place for Gary Con enthusiasts to collaborate, tell stories, and generally be a part of our great community. Rest assured that we’re working hard to improve the forums and make them a great place.

Mobile Site
The site is currently optimized for desktop browsers. Mobile comparability is in progress and should be functional soon.
